FAQ's for H45 Products

1.  I have  the Parallel port Quick Drive for few years. Will it work with Windows 2000 and XP?

*  No, the older Parallel port Quick Drive will not work with Windows 2000 and XP.  This is because the Parallel port Quick Drive has been discontinued for sometime and we never updated drivers for the latest operating systems.

2.  How can I get my USB Quick Drive to work with  Windows 98 computer?

*  First you need to determine which model you have, the USB 1.0 or the USB 2.0 unit. To find out, look on the USB cable.  If it is a USB 2.0 you will see a white sticker  labeled USB 2.0 on the connector that plugs into the Quick Drive..  If it does not have a white sticker then your unit is a USB 1.0.

*  If you have a USB 1.0 model, you need to run the setup file in the usb/win98 folder and then restart your computer with the Quick Drive unit connected to your computer. Windows will set everything up for you.   USB2IDE BULK ONLY STORAGE should come up in your universal serial bus controllers under  Device Manager.

*  If you have a USB 2.0 unit then you need to install the TPP300.inf drivers from the USB20/win98 folder.  After installing this driver you should see a USB STORAGE ADAPTER V3 (TPP) come up under universal serial bus controllers in your Device Manager.

3.  How come I can see the USB storage adapter V3 (TPP) under USB controllers in the Device Manager, and I can also see additional drive under the disk drives in my device manager, but I do not get a drive letter in My Computer?

*  You need to assign the drive a drive letter.  Find the new drive under Disk Drives in your Device Manager. Double click on it and select the Settings tab.  Select under Options a Removable box.  Then go down to drive letter assignment and assign a starting drive letter and a ending drive letter.  You will need to restart Windows for the change to take effect.

4.  I have a 80 gig hard drive inside the Quick Drive but the hard drive only comes up as a 64 gig hard drive, how can I get the full capacity of the Hard drive.

*  Because the Quick Drive will only recognize hard drives with up to 64 GB, you need to partition the hard drive into two partitions no greater than 64 GB each.

5.  How should I set the jumper settings of the Hard Drive inside of the Quick Drive kit?

*  The jumper settings should be set to master unless you have a Western Digital hard drive.  With Western Digital hard drives, make sure all the jumper is pulled out completely.
